ONE OF DISNEY'S PREMIERE ANIMATION ARTISTS
CHRISTOPHE VACHER
TO EXHIBIT PAINTINGS AT ARTEXPO

(August 28, 1997-Los Angeles, CA)
Christophe Vacher, currently one of Walt Disney Pictures' premiere visual artists, will be debuting his own work in the U.S. at Artexpo, held October 24-27, 1997, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. His paintings, which immerse the observer in a realm of fantasy and imagination, are just a sampling of the many offerings at Artexpo, the world's largest art marketplace.

Vacher is a multi-talented artist, who has provided backgrounds and visual development for Walt Disney Feature Animation since 1993. Vacher worked at Disney's Paris-based animation studio for three years, where he painted backgrounds for such films as
"The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "Runaway Brain" and served as head of background for the 1995 feature, "A Goofy Movie."

Accepting Disney's invitation to relocate to California, Vacher became one of their premiere visual development artists. Since then, he has painted backgrounds for the summer hit, "Hercules," worked on the studio's ambitious new in-house computer-animated feature, "Dinosaur". Vacher is currently playing a key role in visual development of the studio's upcoming feature "Fantasia 2000". He is slated to begin backgrounds for "Tarzan", after completing his work on the Stravinsky finale sequence of "Fantasia 2000".

Morpheus International, the leading publisher of fine art of the surreal and fantastique for nearly a decade, has just announced that it will be representing Vacher's personal work. Vacher joins such Fantastic Art luminaries as H.G. Giger (whose work will also be
exhibited at Artexpo), Ernst Fuchs and Jacek Yerka. The signing was made via Vacher's manager Kat Cressida and Agent Aaron D. Berger. Berger is the CEO of AniManagement (L.A.), the premiere animation agency.

Vacher was born in France in1996. He attended the Fine Arts School of Clermont-Ferrand. His work has been exhibited throughout France, Including such prominent galleries as Clermont-Ferrand and the Grand Palais in Paris. Vacher was Fine Art Ambassador at the French Lion's Club in Auvergne and represented the county at the National Fine Art Exhibition.

Prior to joining Disney, Vacher worked as a freelance illustrator for several prestigious French Architecture and Animation Clients. His numerous animation Credits include "The Tales of Peter Castor", "Bamboo Bears", "Ninja Turtles in Europe", "Prince Valiant"
and "Back to the Future".

In addition to a booth displaying Vacher's mystical fantasy-scapes, Vacher's work will also be displayed at Artexpo by Morpheus International. Vacher's colorful works explore the windings of the imagination, with otherworldly and fantastic scenes. His paintings are
"a parallel path to Real Life; a long journey through an inside World…made up of symbolic visual metaphors” and observations "of the World through the eye of a Wanderer". Among his influence, Vacher credits the Hudson River School, the Romantics and the
European symbolists for their theatrical scenery, as well as contemporary artists such as Sandorfi, Beksinski, Ugarte and the Visionaries (Les Visionaires) in France. 1997 marks the American premier of Vacher's personal work, some of which will be seen for the first time at Artexpo.
